A new video of the series Behind the Scenes where I share the process of creating my illustrations.

I created this illustration for Scientific American, for an article about How to be a better spender.

I sketch using an iPad Pro and Procreate.
The final is created in Illustrator.

Song: Sidecar by Podington Bear.

Would you like to see more videos showing the process behind my images? Any questions, suggestions or feedback?
Let me know in the comments!

PS: My online course Strategy & Business for Illustrators is now available for pre-order!

      ¡Abrazo!

Great working process ! I wanna watch again and again. Thank you for sharing.

  3. Very cool!

What is the purpose of the shapes you create outside the figure’s body (to the left of her at 1:38, and to the right of her head at 1:10). Are they for masking? In which case, why is that better for you than just editing the head/body shapes themselves? Just curious, thanks for sharing your process! :)

    • Thanks for your comment, Max!
You are right. They are just masks. I use them instead of editing the shapes themselves because it gives me flexibility. My working process is based on trial and error, and masking makes this process easier. I can go back and forth, edit them separately, hide them, etc. When I finally find the right shape, I use the Pathfinder and combine all the shapes into one.
