I’m very happy to announce that I’m one of the winners of American Illustration 36 with the series of Spanish Classic Books covers I did for SM.

Thank you very much to AI-AP and the jury for this award.
Congratulations to the rest of the winners!

PS: My online course Strategy & Business for Illustrators is now available for pre-order!

  1. I have a question for you, Magoz :-) Do you have the opportunity/possibility to explain something about the context of the work when you present it? Although the illustrations are great and communicative without further explanations, a bit of general context seems important and —sometimes— it can even add value to the work, right?

    Thank you and congratulations!

    • Do you mean when I send my sketches/finals to the client? I’ve added it to my list of topics and I will write about it in the future! :-)

Thanks again for sending interesting questions, Raúl!

      • No, in fact I was talking about Illustration awards :-)

        • Oh! In that case, it very depends on each award. They have specific requirements when it comes to how to submit the artwork.

Some of them just require the title and client while others ask you about the motivation, the brief, your proposal, etc.

I’ve never been part of an illustration awards jury, so I’m not sure how important is the context for them.

  2. Congratulations!

  3. Congrats friend!

    Hola Magoz!

Te conocí con este trabajo cuando hacia una beca en SM editorial y por eso fui a un seminario de Adobe a verte. Me pareces un ilustrador increíble!

    Un saludo!
